Cumbria 2008

Flookburgh, Cartmel, Cumbria.

17 Main Street is a sympathetically restored 18th century terraced fisherman's cottage. It is being completely renovated for Easter 2006.

Accommodation

The accommodation comprises two bedrooms (one double bed ; 1 single) , lounge with gas "woodburner" stove; kitchen, bathroom, and utility room in the outhouse. There is a pretty 100 ft garden to the rear.

Location

Flookburgh is an ancient fishing village (once much closer to Morecambe Bay than it is now). It has a Post Office, village shop, two pubs, and an excellent fish and chip shop. It is close to Cartmel with its priory and racecourse, and also near to Grange with a wider range of shops. Of course, it is very handy for the Lake District. Morecambe Bay is a wonderful place, and Holker Hall is just around the corner. There is a justly renowned steam rally on the local airfield where parachutists also frolic.
