HOLIDAYS AT SALAMAT
Nestling beneath Blencathra, Salamat is a spacious three-bedroom cottage, which sleeps five to six people comfortably. It has been tastefully modernised, while keeping a traditional Lakeland cottage feel. It is in an ideal holiday location, with stunning views of mountains and valleys from every window.

Located within the picturesque village of Threlkeld and only 3 miles east of the market town of Keswick, this is the place to enjoy your Lake District holiday!

THE ACCOMMODATION COMPRISES

" Cosy lounge with open fire, TV and video, plus a CD radio/cassette player and board games.
" Spacious kitchen with breakfast bar. All mod cons, including dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer, fan-assisted cooker. Off the kitchen is a downstairs loo and a utility room with washing machine and tumble drier.
" Large master bedroom has a king size bed and a desk where you can look out on to the ridges of Blencathra.
" Second bedroom, looking across fields towards the Keswick hills, has a single bed, but can be made into a twin.
" Loft bedroom has a double and single bed. This charming room is the length of the house. It has a sitting area and features beams and velux windows, again affording mountain views. (Access via steep stairs with child safety gates).
" The Bathroom is modern, warm and has a shower over the bath.

COMFORT IS THE WORD!
" Centrally-heated throughout.
" People say these are the most comfortable beds they've ever slept in on holiday!
" All the beds are equipped with two different weight duvets and pillows. Sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers are provided. The beds will be made up when you arrive! Towels are available for an extra charge of £2 per set.
" There is a wide variety of books, maps of the local area, and walking guides. You can also borrow binoculars and some walking gear.

"THE GROUNDS"
" Parking space for two cars.
" The front garden is surrounded by a traditional dry-stone wall, while the patio at the rear borders onto open fields.
" There are garden chairs and a parasol for warm summer days, a BBQ and picnic table for meals outside.

ROUND AND ABOUT

" The northern Lake District has a huge variety of holiday attractions within easy range of the cottage, to suit every taste. A collection of up to date brochures are ready for you to browse through on arrival. Or look at the links on the Salamat Website.
" Good walking starts from the house, either up Blencathra, which towers 2,847 feet above the village, or over fields, lanes and lower fells for the less adventurous.

LOCAL AMENITIES INCLUDE
" A children's playground, which can be seen from the house
" Some great pubs nearby
" A welcoming church
" A post office and newspaper "room" (has to be seen to be believed!)
" A regular bus service connecting Keswick and Penrith
" The nearest supermarkets are in Keswick, which also has a theatre, a Saturday market and lots of interesting shops and good eating-places. Penrith has the most interesting bookshop for miles around!
