Welcome to a piece of paradise ! We are delighted to offer our warm and comfortable 3 bedroomed, home, on the doorstep of outstanding countryside, for you, your family and your friends.
The house can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children and is reasonably priced. Charges for a week's stay in 2008 range from 195 - 325 pounds depending on the time of year. Shorter breaks and out of season, contact us for details. There are NO "extras" like heating or bedding. You pay once and that's it!
For your comfort and ours, you are welcome to smoke ..outside..and please leave your lovely pets at home.


About the house
We call our house "55 reasons" because there are so many reasons for you to want to stay and to return. You will quickly fall in love with the peace and quiet and the wonderful view of the sun setting from the lounge windows.
Downstairs accommodation
From the entrance hall, there is a useful downstairs toilet and wash basin. A place also to hang your coats. The lounge is beautifully appointed, spacious and light looking out onto green fields, and an occasional cow can be seen in the field to the left. The lounge has plenty of room with a colour TV and video, books, and games for your use. The kitchen and diner are large and well-equipped. The dining table can easily sit all of you, a cupboard nearby provides another useful storage place. The kitchen comes with the full range of matching utensils, a washing machine, drier, cooker, freezer, fridge and microwave. There's even a music centre to listen to your favourite tapes and CD while cooking the lunch.
Upstairs accommodation
There are two double bedrooms with plenty of room to store your clothes. One bedroom has its own ensuite toilet and shower room, the other has dual aspect windows whose view you will quickly learn to love. The third bedroom is smaller with bunk beds. There is also an upstairs toilet, wash basin and bathroom, with lashings of hot water.
For those with very young children, there is a travel cot and high chair to save you bringing your own.
Outside
There are lawned gardens to the front and back. The back garden is completely enclosed and there's a shed that you can use to store bikes etc.. There are even some garden chairs for those lazy summer evenings. Parking is off the road.


About Waterhouses and the surrounding area.
Whether you are a walker, a seeker of solitude, or you enjoy exploring towns and places of interest there is something here for everyone. Waterhouses has a superb sit down or takeaway cafe, two pubs, a little PO and shop that between them appear to sell everything! The beautiful Manifold Valley is within walking distance and Dovedale is only a short drive away.
If you prefer picturesque market towns then Leek or Ashbourne are for you. Bakewell, Matlock, Chatsworth and Buxton are within easy reach and for the young and not so young Alton Towers is only 5 miles away. Waterhouses can easily be reached from either the M1 or M6, and the roads and lanes around the area are a delight to drive through. Remember to bring your camera.
In the house you will find various leaflets detailing what is around the area, you are sure to find something that you like. There is also a very useful book from previous guests telling about their experiences and recommendations.
